Have you ever wondered what would personally help you when stress or pressures at work and in daily life get out of hand? The Institute for Social Medicine and Health Systems Research is testing a digital platform designed to help you monitor your mental well-being in everyday life and find the right support. To this end, participants are being sought among OVGU employees. If you are interested, please email by June 30, 2026, with the subject line “I am interested in the PsyPan study! Please send me more information.”

What Artificial Intelligence Can Do

The traveling exhibition “I AM A.I.,” currently on display on the upper level of the cafeteria on the main campus, will remain open through July 31, 2026, and explores how artificial intelligence works and its societal implications. The exhibition addresses not only its potential but also its key challenges. Guided tours can be arranged upon request through the Dean’s Office of the Faculty of Mathematics. 

The Federal Ministry of Justice in the shadow of its Nazi past

The traveling exhibition “Die Rosenburg – The Federal Ministry of Justice in the Shadow of the Nazi Past” will conclude with a special closing event at the University Library on June 17, 2026. Following opening remarks, there will be a panel discussion with Federal Minister of Justice Dr. Stefanie Hubig.

Academic Spaces in Europe

The rectors and approximately 100 other members from the partner universities of the EU GREEN University Alliance gathered at OVGU in early May 2026. The Board of Rectors Meeting focused on how the nine European universities will collaborate on teaching, research, and digital cooperation in the future.

In the “living room” of our kestrels

You can use a webcam to take a look inside two new nesting boxes for the kestrels on our main campus. Colleagues from the carpentry shop built them according to NABU specifications; the Department of Technology and Construction Planning installed them; and colleagues from the URZ set up the cameras.

Updates Regarding Business Travel

Going forward, all substantive and technical inquiries regarding business travel will be collected via a central email address. There have been updates to the form library, and an invoice is now required for the reimbursement of travel expenses. 

Know-how homemade

Once a month, the 55 staff members of the University Library gather to share best practices and experiences. Based on the principle of “by staff, for staff,” cross-departmental collaboration and joint development are actively encouraged.

United Kingdom Returns to Erasmus+

Starting in 2027, the UK will once again participate fully in all areas of the Erasmus program, ranging from schools and vocational training to higher education, youth, adult education, and sports. The UK’s association with the EU’s Erasmus+ program has now been signed in Brussels. This means the UK is once again closely connected to Europe through both Horizon Europe in research and Erasmus+ in exchange and teaching. Learn more.
